General Guidelines
- Events should be held at least once per week
- Events should be approximately 30 minutes to an hour to maximize engagement
Code of Conduct
- Café Lingua events are relatively free of structure allowing individual volunteers and their family members to structure events however they see fit. That means events could look very different from one language family to the next or one tribe to the next (i.e. mini-speeches, language games, cooking club, game club, etc.)
- While the event structures are up to individual families to determine, Café Lingua will not tolerate any forms of bullying, harassment, or prejudice of any kind. This means all volunteers and participants in our language exchange events agree to:
- be courteous to all family members
- include all family members in decision making and event participation
- allow role changes in leadership
- seek to understand one another
- help those who are struggling
